One of my greatest kitchen aspirations is to own a rotisserie spit. After all, I can’t remember the last week when there wasn’t a supermarket rotisserie chicken in my fridge, contributing to basically every meal. The Kalorik air fryer oven is a much more space-friendly answer to these cravings. It comes with a rotisserie spit along with an array of other accessories for every baking and air-frying need.
Out of the best air fryer toaster ovens that we tested—including models from top brands like Breville, Cosori and KitchenAid—the Kalorik Maxx was the most tricked-out option.
The Kalorik Maxx brings together two of our favorite things: air fryers and toaster ovens. It rapidly speeds up cooking times and has 21 smart preset options, which we found were pretty decent across the board. With this air fryer oven, you can bake, toast, sear, dehydrate, boil and more.
Boasting a set of French doors and a stainless steel finish, the Kalorik MAXX brings a sophisticated look to your kitchen. It also brings a lot of accessories, including an air-frying basket, baking tray, bacon tray, rotisserie spit and forks, plus a bonus cookbook.
Weighing just over 16 pounds, it has a large, 26-quart capacity yet is still light enough that you could store it in your cabinets rather than keeping it permanently on your counter.

After thorough testing, this French door air fryer oven earned our best accessories badge.
We tested the Kalorik air fryer oven using a designated methodology. We prepped four different types of food to weigh the oven’s performance and capacity.
We started by toasting four slices of bread using the toast setting at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for five minutes. We weren’t overly impressed with the result. The toasting was uneven on the top and bottom of the bread, and the bottom had inconsistent browning.
Luckily, the Kalorik Maxx air fryer oven redeemed itself when we air-fried French fries. The “fries” function automatically set the machine to 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, and the potatoes came out a beautifully, remarkably even golden brown. We were very happy with the final outcome, especially since that was the result of just using a preset. We imagine the results would have been even better if we had first spritzed the fries with oil.
Next up was a sheet cake, which we set out to cook for 20 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, although it ultimately took a total of 37 minutes because we had to return the cake to the oven a couple of times. Overall, the cake had a pretty consistent color, though it fell in the middle when we did the toothpick test, which required a return to the oven.
Finally, we roasted chicken, which was where the Kalorik air fryer oven fully won us over with its rotisserie spit. We set the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and it took about 50 minutes to cook. The chicken came out crispy on all sides, thanks to the rotating spit. Some of the seasonings got charred, but it looked (and tasted!) like a rotisserie chicken you’d pick up at the store.
It’s important to note that our chicken (just under 5 pounds) barely fit on the rotisserie pit, so be cognizant of the size of the chickens you use.
The Kalorik Maxx air fryer oven is pretty simple to use. You can set your own preferences or select one of the 21 presets to immediately start cooking.
We found that the Kalorik air fryer oven required a more involved cleaning process because of all the attachments. We submerged the washable parts in warm, soapy water and wiped the interior and exterior with a wet cloth. Otherwise, cleaning was pretty standard.
Our Product Testing Team trialed a wide array of air fryer ovens with elimination-based testing. We narrowed our pool of 10 ovens down through each round of testing until only the top five contenders remained. Each air fryer oven was given a score to assess its performance and unique features.
