About Me
For me, writing is like scratching an itch. I just have to do it. It makes me feel better. It’s like a friend.
Or a therapist.
I have lots of great material. My main goal these days is helping my two little girls survive their childhood. I try my best to keep them fed and watered, and make sure they play nice with others. Raising these two beautiful creatures is the best fun I’ve ever had.
Both my kids make me smile every day until my face hurts.
This blog began as I helped my dad through his journey with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. It largely chronicles his last year of life at The Inn (his term for the nursing home where he called home.) He knew me and my family up until the end, but the “slow dance” that he did was one of the hardest things I have experienced. But it was also a gift. I was very blessed to be able to hold his hand as his journey ended in November of 2012.
After I wrote about it, I felt so much better.
Sure, life can get pretty complicated sometimes. But that’s okay.
Each day is a gift.
And to be honest, I wouldn’t change a thing.
